研究概述：从事神经疾病流行病学（neuroepidemiology）和老年病流行病学学(geriatric epidemiology)教学和科研工作30余年。重点研究脑老化、认知功能退化和老年痴呆流行病学、临床发病机理、老年痴呆症与失能的人群预防对策及促进健康老龄化和健康脑老化的跨学科研究工作，从生命周期的角度提出心-脑-认知在老化过程中的关联性(The heart-brain-mind connection in aging)及其在心血管疾病、脑卒中和老年痴呆症联合预防中的应用。
